Last week, a host of gamers presented 24-hour live streams to support the Extra Life charity. This week, it’s the comedy community’s turn. Several top comedians are involved in Comedy Gives Back, a 24-hour charity event streaming live on Dailymotion.
Comedy Gives Back is a day-long event aimed at raising money for a specific charity. This year, the charity of choice is Malaria No More, whose focus you can probably guess based on its name.
The lineup supporting Malaria No More is an impressive one filled with big-name comedians. Performers include Dane Cook, Marc Maron, Maria Bamford, Adam Carolla, Jim Breuer, Kevin Nealon, and Zach Galifianakis, with additional stand-up sets coming from Dane Cook, Marc Maron, Maria Bamford, Adam Carolla, Jim Breuer, Kevin Nealon, and others. Some of these comedians previously teased the Comedy Gives Back event at a live show during YouTube Comedy Week.
Dailymotion has stepped up to provide a home for the live streamed event, which was first held in 2011. “Comedy has always been one of the most popular subjects on Dailymotion and we could not be more excited to work with a great organization like Comedy Gives Back,” said Neal Lynch, Managing Editor of Dailymotion’s Comedy Channel. “Getting the opportunity to raise money for such an important charity as Malaria No More, while bringing the best live comedy content from around the world to our viewers, made this an obvious partnership for us and one we look forward to growing for years to come.”
Pay-per-view content from the event will become available on November 8th. Of course, the proceeds from those clips will continue to give back.
