Audition To Be In Virgin America’s Next In-Flight Safety Video

Virgin America‘s incredible in-flight safety video is currently making the rounds on the Internet. The brilliant song-and-dance number has garnered significant media attention and scored more than a million views in just two days (because it is awesome).

Luckily for us, the ‘Safety Dance‘ is the first of what will be multiple in-flight safety musicals, and we have a shot at appearing in the next edition. Virgin America is giving social media users with sweet dance skills a chance to “audition” for a spot in its second safety video.

For those of you haven’t seen ‘Safety Dance’, please do so ASAP. In a five minute video, various characters dance around and recite airplane safety regulations with a catchy song that shifts effortlessly from modern pop to rap to dubstep to soul. The whole thing incredibly well-choreographed, which makes sense once you realize who is sitting in the director’s chair: Jon M. Chu, director of two Step Up

movies and co-founder of DS2DIO. That’s right, Virgin America enlisted a Hollywood director to shoot its safety video.

Virgin America’s next safety video is probably going to be just as cool, and you can be in it. All you need to do is upload your best dance skillz to Instagram video with the hashtag #VXSafetydance by November 22nd. At that point, Virgin will choose a lucky winner to appear in its next video. If you need inspiration before you bust a move, here you go.

Virgin has a history of connecting itself to the online video industry, but Richard Branson’s airline has really outdone itself this time. I know you want to get down with the ‘Safety Dance’s wacky cast of characters, so go forth and get down.
