#SMWLA Preview: “Video Is The Perfect Form Of Online Content”

From September 23-28, online companies, executives, and personalities will gather in Santa Monica for Social Media Week Los Angeles. To help showcase the incredible events that will be going down this year, Tubefilter will be offering daily previews of individual events. Check out the full schedule here and our schedule at a glance here.

Chris Mohney, the VP of Programming at Maker Studios, is definitely biased, but I don’t think it’s absurd for him to claim that video is the perfect form of online content. At Social Media Week Los Angeles, Mohney will argue that point and will explain how the future of content consumption will make online video an even more valuable commodity.

Mohney’s argument will likely be similar to the one Kevin Spacey put forth during a recent address. Essentially, device and length are irrelevant–content is king. Therefore, why not make use of a medium that is both highly engaging and an open forum for its consumers?

In his keynote, Mohney will explain how this blurring of the lines between traditional and new media is blurring, and he will discuss a future where online video doesn’t require social media because it serves as social media. Go check him out if you want to feel excited and energized about the modern online video landscape.

The ‘Video: The Natively Social Media’ keynote will go down on Tuesday, September 24th at 2 PM at ROC Santa Monica. If you’re interested, you can sign up right here.
