Wong Fu, Jon M. Chu, FreddieW To Serve As Mentors For AT&T Contest

Three of YouTube’s most popular creators are competing to see who can best turn a cool video idea into YouTube gold. Wong Fu Productions, DS2DIO‘s Jon M. Chu, and Freddie Wong are the YouTubers involved in Take Your Shot, a filmmaking competition hosted by ISA TV and AT&T.

The contest began in July when the three mentors each posted videos on their personal channels urging creators to submit their pitch ideas. The top 50 were collected on the contest’s website, and until August 18th, fans can vote on their favorite ideas. After voting ends, the top 10 semifinalists will be announced, with the three winners revealed on August 26th.

At that point, the friendly rivalry between Wong Fu, Chu, and Wong will begin in earnest, as they will each take a winner under their wing and turn that creator’s short film pitch into reality. Each of the productions will be chronicled in a regular series on ISAtv, the Asian-American oriented channel owned by Wong Fu and Far East Movement

. AT&T’s involvement will take the form of a new smartphone that will be used during filming.
