Hit Series ‘Husbands’ To Debut New Season On CW’s Digital Destination ‘Seed’

We relayed the news to you back in March that Jane Espenson and Brad “Cheeks” Bell’s critically acclaimed web series Husbands would be making the jump from YouTube to the CW Digital. This week, word just broke at San Diego Comic-Con that the program about about the aftermath of an unplanned, spur-of-the-moment wedding in Las Vegas (that just so happens to be between two men) will bow its upcoming third season on the newly rebranded CW Seed.

And the posters exist to prove it.

Weekly episodes of the upcoming season are slated to run about eight-minutes apiece and will feature Amy Acker, Beth Grant, Michael Hogan, and Seth Green, in addition to series regulars Bell, Sean Hemeon, and Allesandra Torresani.

Husbands will be joined by a handful of other online original series on CW Seed. The destination housed under CWTV.com is the broadcast television network’s online video incubator for properties that it thinks may resonate with larger audiences. “We can test out new talent, test out new ideas, test out new ways for finding exciting new opportunities for advertisers, and in success moving it to the mainstream CW,” said CW Executive Vice President of Marketing and Digital Programs, Rick Haskins to Lost Remote when the network announced the new direction of its digital branding and strategy in March.

Both Husbands and CW Seed are set to premiere in August. Stay tuned for more info before then.
