New CNET Series Reveals Nelly Is Pretty Good At Video Games

CBS Interactive’s presentation at Digital Content Newfronts made particular note of CNET, which is expected to roll out several new series over the next few months. Now, one of those shows, Hooked Up, has debuted, with rapper Nelly as the first guest.

Nelly meets with Hooked Up‘s host, Kevin Frazier of Yahoo’s omg! Insider. The show can be described as Cribs for the techie crowd. Together, Frazier and Nelly walk through the rapper’s favorite gadgets while also discussing his proclivity for video games and the ways technology helps his charity efforts. Apparently, Nelly is a beast at Super Mario Bros, claiming to be better than anyone under 30. Man, is there anything this guy can’t do

Still, while Hooked Up has potential, it could do with examining stars with a little more to offer. Nelly is charismatic and has plenty of screen presence, but his gadgets mostly consist of his camera and Macbook Pro. By those standards, the average art student is one band-aid away from being featured on the show. For the show to engage viewers for the entirety of its 15 minute run, it should feature some crazy gadgets from tech-savvy personalities. I’m thinking this guy should do the trick.
