You may know him as the Nerdist, the host of AMC’s first live after-show Talking Dead, the arm candy on Jenny McCarthy, or the Wired contributor. But now you’ll also know Chris Hardwick as the host of the 3rd Annual Streamy Awards.
The charming actor, charismatic comedian, and seasoned amateur bowler with a great affinity for online video will emcee the star-studded live and live-streamed event produced by dick clark productions and Tubefilter honoring excellence in online video from the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California on February 17, 2013. Here’s his comment on what to expect from the tent-pole event:
Don’t tell television, but there is some SUPERIOR programming being made on the Interwebz. I am honored to help give the Web community, many of whom are my friends, the accolades they deserve. Also, the show is going to be breezy and fun. I think the Streamys could be a new Tonys! DO YOU HEAR ME NPH?!

Note that NPH (aka Neil Patrick Harris) has a popular puppet show on Hardwick’s Nerdist YouTube channel, which is an esteemed member of the YouTube Originals Initiative
and creator and distributor of no less than a couple dozen online video series. (I told you Hardwick has a great affinity for this medium.)And Hardwick isn’t the only one excited he’s hosting the 3rd Annual Streamy Awards. Emmy-nominated Golden Globes Producer and Streamy Awards Executive Producer, Barry Adelman and Streamy Awards Producer Assaf Blecher had this to say about the Streamys host:
Chris Hardwick’s proven hosting abilities and comedic talent make him an ideal fit to host this year’s show. Being such an influential force in pop culture and a powerful online presence, he truly resonates with our audience.
Be sure to mark your calendars for February 17, grab a pair of tickets to the show before they’re gone, and stay tuned for more major Streamy Awards news. If you loved this Chris Hardwick announcement, you’re going to also love what else we have in store.
