Anthony Zuiker Talks ‘Cybergeddon’ On ‘What’s Trending?’ At SMWLA

Anthony Zuiker‘s Cybergeddon web series has been rolling along on Yahoo! Screen since its launch last week. The CSI creator has been promoting the heck out his new show, appearing several times alongside What’s Trending?‘s Shira Lazar at Social Media Week Los Angeles. After Lazar hosted a discussion with Zuiker regarding his feelings about the online video industry, she caught up with him after the event for a brief interview, which was recently posted to What’s Trending?‘s YouTube channel.

The companion app discussed in the interview is the Cybergeddon game, where players must stop cybercrime threats in what seems to be a tower defense format. The game has been downloaded to thousands of mobile devices since its launch, and if user reviews are to be believed, it’s quite addicting

. The game is one of the many ways that Zuiker is engaging his viewers through multiple platforms on both computer and mobile devices.

In Zuiker’s SMWLA fireside chat, he talked to Lazar about Cybergeddon in much greater detail and expounded the ways in which it represents the changing face of premium entertainment through its use of evolving media and brand partnership. The series is sponsored by Norton, so its message could very well be ‘use our antivirus software or terrorists will hack into your accounts and frame you for cybercrime!’ To hear Zuiker discuss that issue and many others, check out the whole event here.
