Rev3’s ‘Web Zeroes’: The Zeroes are Back in Town

Revision3 launched season 2 of their web sitcom Web Zeroes today and friends Nate, Ray, and Alex are still reaching for that allusive internet stardom. They start the season by taking on viral video, which according to their “research assitant”, Mulligan, can easilly be acheived following the simple formula: “derivative content + relevant references + humor or special effects = viral videos”. But of course, the guys manage to make the simple as unintentionally complicated as possible and hilarity ensures.

I had a moment to correspond with Eddy Rivas of Smooth Few Films, who plays Alex on the show, about what we can expect from the new season. “The show has always been about our lives as content creators on the Internet – it’s always been a little meta,” said Rivas. “Season 2 goes even more meta, and turns into a ridiculous look at creating Web Zeroes

itself. Expect the guys to get bigger opportunities, and more friendship dramedy as a result.”

The guys have also upped the ante on production values for the new season. “We’re actually shooting the entire season on a Canon 7D DSLR as opposed to a Panasonic HVX which we used for the previous season,” continued Rivas. “We all have jobs, so the show is filmed on evenings and weekends with about a 5 man crew (including us on screen).”

Rivas also shared a little Web Zeroes factoid: “Alex and Diane are married in real life as well as the show.”
