Just in Time for Valentine's Day 'JDating' Series Arrives

I have some friends who swear by JDate. They met on the site a little over a year ago and they are already talking about what they will name their children. Still, is the internet world interested in a web series that sadly looks at bad as an eHarmony ad?

On the flip side, JDate does look like they might possibly allow a little MTV-style dating fodder in there, while eHarmony (a site geared toward the Christian crowd) remains squeaky clean—I had a friend banned from this site for his liberal political views and his enjoyment of recreational marijuana use.

While based on the preview, JDating – Real People, Real Journeys doesn’t look quite as spicy hot as The Real World, the show is not ashamed to use pretty Jewish women in bathtubs as a ploy to get eligible young doctors and lawyers to sign-up for the service. In fact, the show seems merely a shameless parade of people who are forgoing anonymity completely all in the name of a shilling the site. The new series premieres tomorrow, Valentine’s Day, on JDate.com.

The show preview does seem to hint at wheeling out the few who have little hope like the pageant of pathetic losers who have no shot at American Idol, only in this case the hopeless bunch continuously missed Cupid’s arrow. Perhaps it is their lame handles like “bogeydog,” or their penchants for red heads that might be blocking their road to matchmaking bliss.

Yet, every hopeless schlub seems to be balanced perfectly with an adorable cuddly couple who will be ready to stomp on some glass, make a baby, and head to a briss. In fact, they’re so darn cute and happy, they’re enough to make an unmarried goyim sign up for the site. As for my lovely friends who found each other through the wonder that is JDate, they told me it’s cool, but I still may want to do a lineage check to see if I might have 1/8th Jewish heritage somewhere.
