Those Arent Muskets' Internet Party 2

Sequels are hard to pull off. Caddyshack II, The Next Karate Kid, Book of Shadows: Blair With 2, and the second Charlie the Unicorn taught us that. But Those Aren’t Muskets makes it look easy.

Four months after they hosted their first Internet Party – a sketch created for Cracked.com that anthropomorphisized Web 2.0 companies, giving them the bodies and proclivities of college coeds – Those Aren’t Muskets and Cracked today released Internet Party 2: An Intervention for MySpace.

Like all great sophomore efforts, it takes a familiar premise, puts it in a new surrounding, and introduces kickass characters you didn’t see before. My favorites are 4Chan

– who has a sick pension for porno and memes – and
College and Humor – who together share a love for early 90’s Nickelodeon and Gak.

It’s the latest in a string of great sketches from Those Aren’t Muskets since we spoke with them last March, including a look into early video game developers’ liberal drug culture and their submissions that carried them all the way to the final round YouTube Sketchie’s II contest. I expect more great things to come.

I also expect more video to come from Cracked. Chris at Newteevee reports that the site will up it’s video output by three times before the end of the year. Hopefully that won’t include extra installments of This Week in Douchebagery.
