When a study released by the Bivings Group this September showed that the number of top 50 US magazines by circulation offering video features jumped from 34% in 2006 to 60% in 2007, you’d think that Wired, although not included in the research, would’ve followed the trend. It’d make sense for a techno-utopian magazine that covers the intersection of science, culture, and cool to also be at the cutting edge of online video. But such was not the case. In fact, Wired’s just now getting started.
NewTeeVee reports that the magazine has hired Annaliza Savage – former producer of John C. Dvorak’s techie talk show, Cranky Geeks (Tilzy.TV page) – to design and jumpstart a brand new video department.
