GoFish, Icebox, and MTV Awards

Animation studio Icebox, which has produced material over the past decade with comedic legends like Larry David and Eric Kaplan and created one of the first online animation success stories with Mr. Wong, is partnering with GoFish to release a new season of its online series “Hidden Celebrity Webcam“. It’s also being sponsored by the 2007 MTV Movie Awards. That’s remarkably impressive. Go GoFish.

Ned Scovell’s “Hidden Celebrity Webcam” will run for 13 weeks and take pitiless animated stabs at recent embarrassing moments that have gone from private to downloadable clips in a matter of hours.

I don’t know if I’ll be able to stomach another parody of Alec Baldwin’s dulcet voicemail, but there’s more to it

than parody. On June 6, user submissions will be entered and judged by Icebox executives like Rob LaZebnik (also known from his work on “The Simpsons”) and John Collier (from “King of the Hill”). The winner gets representation from the Rothman Becher animation talent agency, which sounds a lot like the aniBOOM Eyedoll showdown.

The series is scheduled to launch on Thursday. But it’s worth noting that the last time GoFish announced a series premiere was three weeks ago and the show still hasn’t found its way onto the air.

In the meantime, check out some old episodes of “Hidden Celebrity Webcam” on Icebox.
