With all the whirls and zoinks of a Saturday morning cartoon show, a clip called “W’s World” has appeared on Super Deluxe, the online comedy site with videos from users and contract artists. Although it has the look, sound, and color scheme of a cartoon on the Disney Channel, it’s about George W. Bush and it’s probably not the sort of series you’re going to find on Disney.
And it may or may not be the sort of series you’re going to find on Super Deluxe either. Although it’s listed as a user-submitted video, it’s one half of a pilot that New York-based artist Kyle Boyd
designed for Turner Broadcasting System, the company that owns the site.According to Boyd’s website, where his show ends up (or whether it ends up anywhere at all) on TBS’s various new and old media platforms is going to depend on the video’s views. It’s a smart move for the site, since most of their contract talent like Brad Neely and Quack Media were YouTube success stories before being approached by Super Deluxe for regular stints.
Check out the first episode. (And if you like it, check it out on the Super Deluxe site too.)
