On March 31, a trio of creators will have control of an iconic, blue-tinted game board. On that date, Ken Jennings will host a “YouTube Edition” of Jeopardy!, with creators Rebecca Black, Monét X Change, and Brennan Lee Mulligan featured as the contestants.
As with the standard version of Celebrity Jeopardy!, the three participating YouTube stars will be playing for charities. Monét X Change will compete GLAAD, while both Black and Mulligan selected The Trevor Project as the recipient of their winnings.
In recent years, Jeopardy! producer Sony Pictures Television has expanded the indelible game show through a handful of spinoffs, specials, and tournaments. Colin Jost will host season two of Pop Culture Jeopardy! on Netflix in 2026, Celebrity Jeopardy! has aired in prime time on ABC, and the elites of the trivia world have competed in annual editions of the Jeopardy! Masters competition.

Those shows help Jeopardy! reach new audiences, and the show’s presence on YouTube also serves that goal. By uploading full episodes, long-form compilations, and fun categories, the Jeopardy! producers are breathing new life into a 62-year-old property.
The YouTube Edition of the show is a logical next step. By inviting a drag queen, a dungeon master, and a pop star to tackle clues related to viral videos and internet history, Sony Pictures Television is diving headfirst into the creator economy. A press release claims that “notable YouTube talent” will help Jennings present some of the clues.
“Blurring the lines between a traditional broadcast format and a new era of digital consumption results in something that’s fun for both new fans and old ones,” said YouTube Global Head of Culture and Trends Kevin Alocca in a statement. “Seeing Jeopardy! intersect with YouTube creators underscores how the two can amplify each other in ways that feel surprisingly authentic and are a testament to the enduring relevance of these formats.”
Alocca’s talk of reciprocal amplification is a reminder that the YouTube Edition of Jeopardy! is a mutually beneficial partnership. Sony Pictures Television will reach younger consumers where they are, and YouTube will get to double down on the trend of creator-led game shows. Those broadcasts, which have turned heads on Twitch, are starting to utilize formats that first premiered on terrestrial TV. That’s how we got the Sidemen version of Supermarket Sweep, and now we’re getting the YouTuber version of Jeopardy!
Though there are no public plans for a second episode of the Jeopardy! YouTube Edition, Sony Pictures Television has big plans for its venerable quiz show. The production company is relaunching the Jeopardy! YouTube channel in collaboration with creative agency We Are Social, and the two partners will release “more bespoke content” once Monét, Rebecca, and Brennan wrap up Final Jeopardy.
