In this week’s U.S. Top 50, MrBeast challenged for the #1 spot by raising his viewership by 18% week-over-week. But the reigning #1 channel, Toys and Colors, rode a 23% week-over-week bump of its own as it retained its title as the most-watched YouTube channel based in the United States.

By getting 784.6 million weekly views, Toys and Colors pushed its lifetime total above 81 billion views. Only three entrants in the U.S. Top 50 — family vlogs Vlad and Niki and Like Nastya, as well as sports hub WWE — have gotten more lifetime views on YouTube.
For doctors and lawyers, YouTube Shorts has become part of the profession
The two jobs that your parents wanted you to grow up to have are both making moves in our rankings. Multiple doctors and lawyers have made their mark in the U.S. Top 50, but this week, the leading channel from those professions belongs to Law By Mike.
Mike Mandell, the titular attorney who runs the Law By Mike channel, first came onto our radar back in August. That’s when he broke into the U.S. Top 50, and his channel has only grown since then. By dispensing legal advice via punchy short-form skits and taking on long-form law-related challenges, Mandell is now getting more than 171 million YouTube views per week. That sum pushed him up to 13th place in the U.S. Top 50, and all he had to do was eat a bunch of things that could potentially be dangerous or toxic. Easy!
Mandell is showing that lawyers can attract clients by being witty and personable on YouTube. When he broke down the differences between free and private attornies, he didn’t mention that little perk in his personal career. Maybe he’s hoarding all the best cases for himself — and his channel.
On the medical side of things, Dr. Max Reiner is hovering just outside of the U.S. Top 50. His chiropractic videos may get views because they offer actionable tips for back pain relief, or because they tend to feature attractive young women as patients. Whatever the reason for Reiner’s rise, he’s now one of the biggest doctors on YouTube, occasionally getting more than 30 million views in a single day.
Do these YouTube demonstrations of popular jobs advance the careers of the creators who practice what they preach? Mandell and Reiner would probably say so, but their fluctuating view counts show that professional channels may be a flash in the pan.
Channel Distribution
This week, there are 37 YouTube Shorts channels in the U.S. Top 50.
