Top 5 Branded Videos of the Week: Nukes, F1, seed wars, horse girls

Welcome to our rundown of the most-watched branded YouTube videos of the week.

We’re publishing this snippet of a larger Gospel Stats Weekly Brand Report in order to analyze sponsorship trends in the creator economy. Any video launched in tandem with an official brand partner is eligible for the ranking.

And – as the name up above would imply – all the data comes from Gospel Stats. If you’re interested in learning more about Gospel – and which brands are sponsoring what creators on YouTube – click here.

After two solid weeks of Alan Chikin Chow domination, usual top 5s MrBeast and Veritasium are back on our list, along with a couple newcomers–both sports-related–and the king of all horse girls trying something we definitely do not recommend trying at home.

Check it all out right here:

#1 $1 vs $1,000,000,000 Nuclear Bunker!
Channel: MrBeast
Brand: Feastables
Views: 82,379,995

Billionaire bunker tours are somewhat of a thing on YouTube, with folks like MrBeast, Ryan TrahanAirrack, and Jack Pembroke using their platforms to prop open the doors of underground shelters built by rich people who think they’re gonna have a good time when the world ends. In most cases, these bunkers are ultraluxe, with amenities like swimming pools, sprawling gyms, movie theaters, and bowling alleys. But in this case, MrBeast is doing a bit of a Worth It twist by starting with a $1 bunker (aka a broken shipping container half-buried in the dirt) and going all the way up to the U.S. Space Force’s Cheyenne Mountain Complex. And, of course, this video is sponsored by Feastables and its new limited-edition hazelnut cups.

#2 Every Haaland Pass = $100 💵
Channel: John Nellis
Brand: FotMob
Views: 29,399,587

John Nellis‘s channel pitch? “I complete football side quests so you don’t have to.” And in this Short, the side quest in question is one that benefits a Nellis subscriber. He heads to a Manchester City game and agrees to shell out $100 every time star striker Erling Haaland gets a pass. We won’t spoil how high the number went, but we will say Nellis’s wallet is hurting a little less thanks to sponsor FotMob, which is a gameday companion app for soccer enthusiasts and also sponsored video #1,594 this week.

#3 Exposing Why Farmers Can’t Legally Replant Their Own Seeds
Channel: Veritasium
Brand: Incogni
Views: 7,899,906

For this week’s video, Veritasium launched a full-scale investigation into Monsanto, an agricultural biotechnology company that makes pesticides and was acquired by Bayer in 2018 for $63 billion. In true Veritasium STEM style, he goes into the history of pesticides, from one man who wanted to prevent his kids’ suffering with poison ivy to the use of Agent Orange. Then he tackles “The Crop Mafia”–and the systems that keep modern farmers from planting what they want, when they want, and limits the amount of food they can grow. This hourlong video is the sort of stuff you’d see on 60 Minutes–and, like most things these days, you can see it on YouTube first.

#4 F1 Driver Goes Undercover in Amateur Kart Race
Channel: Quadrant
Brand: NordVPN
Views: 5,689,413

We usually talk individual creators when it comes to YouTube, but there are mainstream media companies there vying for viewers–and, in Quadrant‘s case, succeeding. The motorsports company (which says it covers “apparel, athletes, content and partnerships”) joined the ranks of YouTubers being sponsored by NordVPN this week with a video that puts Formula 1 upstart Ollie Bearman in full prosthetics and undercover at a local go-kart race. Bearman has been racing competitively for most of his life…so what will it look like when he’s up against total beginners? And what happens when his fellow racers realize who’s behind the wheel?

BONUS #1,916 Eating HORSE FOOD to become the ULTIMATE HUMAN STEED
Channel: Uwos Lab
Brand: War Thunder
Views: 59,576

Horse girl gacha game Umamusume: Pretty Derby started going viral a few months ago. It’s what it sounds like: You gacha roll for cute girls with horse ears and level them up in races. But what if someone wanted to level up in real life? That’s the question only Uwos Lab is brave enough to answer. In this video, he sets out to turn himself into the ULTIMATE HUMAN STEED by taste-testing horse treats. God, we love the internet.

…and there’s a lot more data where that came from. If you’re interested in learning more about Gospel – and which brands are sponsoring what creators on YouTube – click here.
