During October 2024, the channel that always shows up near the top of our rankings finished ahead of all other YouTube channels in terms of monthly views. It’s a channel that has been surpassed in some areas this year, but don’t think for a second it’s giving up its place among YouTube’s elite.

Don’t call it a comeback
Back in April, MrBeast surpassed T-Series to earn the title of most-subscribed YouTube channel. At the time, Jimmy Donaldson’s ascendance seemed to spell the start of a downturn for T-Series, at least by the Indian record label’s lofty standards. After all, T-Series had begged fans to subscribe, but its efforts to stave off MrBeast were all for naught.
Or were they? Later in the year, we’re starting to see the benefits of T-Series’ viewership push, even if it’s no longer the most-subscribed channel on YouTube. During October, T-Series got more than four billion monthly views, which brought its YouTube-leading lifetime total up to 271.7 billion.
Billions of monthly views have become commonplace for T-Series, but the Indian music hub has seen its monthly traffic go up since the start of September. It’s closing in on one billion weekly views, a benchmark only achieved by a select few channels. (T-Series, MrBeast, and CoComelon — that’s the list.)
If T-Series continues to rake in billions of views at a time, it will become the first YouTube channel with 300 billion views. I remember when 300 million lifetime views was a big deal, so the YouTube community has certainly come a long way since then.
Pakistani TV (on the internet)
There are two channels from Pakistan in this month’s top 15 and three total in the Global Top 100. All three of those channels have something in common: They are all digital outposts for major entertainment companies that serve the Urdu-speaking world.
ARY Digital (#15) and HUM TV (#39) both had strong showings during October, but the Pakistani TV hub that most regularly winds up in our charts is affiliated with HAR PAL GEO. This month, that channel made its way up to 8th place after earning more than two billion monthly views.
As you might expect from a channel with more than 61 billion lifetime YouTube views, this is not the first time HAR PAL GEO has collected a ten-digit monthly view count. But the Pakistani hub has seen its fortunes improve over the past 12 months. It’s now getting more than twice as many weekly views as it was at this time last year.
Interestingly, much of HAR PAL GEO’s viewership is coming on long-form content. In a Shorts-driven world, that makes Pakistan’s TV hubs into anomalies, but I get it. The first episode of Yahya, which needed only three days to get nearly three million views, is clearly a big deal.

Speaking of international takes on YouTube’s most popular formats, let’s talk about Pablo Pol. That’s the name of a Spanish-speaking creator who is providing a Hispanophone answer to American creators like Zack D. Films (#9) and Dylan Anderson (#23).
As you might know if you keep up with this column, Zack D. and Dylan are creators who have gotten big on YouTube Shorts by summarizing some of the format’s trendiest videos and repackaging them in snackable Shorts. That simple use of vertical video has become a phenomenon on Shorts, launching many careers and providing explosive growth for certain creators.
Videomakers in other countries are starting to recognize the success that YouTube Shorts summarizers are having. That’s how Pol, who delivers “las mejores historias de todo el mundo” (Translation: the best stories from around the world) to 8.1 million subscribers, describes his channel.
Pol’s channel features the flag of Egypt, where Spanish is not the primary language, so maybe he’s taking his globetrotting mission very seriously. Whatever the reason for that particular quirk, Pol reached 97th place in the Global Top 100. He picked up 738.5 million monthly views by riding a 40% month-over-month increase. Enjoy anecdotes like these, because the next stories related to a “pol” might not be so positive.
