Viewership was particularly strong in this week’s U.S. Top 50, with 11 U.S.-based channels picking up at least 250 million weekly views. The leader of the ranking was the only channel to double that benchmark during the week that was.

Here are more details about the edutainment companies, individual creators, and short-form stars who are defining this week’s U.S. Top 50.
The Top 5
Make it three #1s in a row for Toys and Colors. The current king of U.S.-based children’s entertainment has been riding high as parents seek summertime entertainment for their young children. Even though the pocket.watch-affiliated channel got 9% less traffic week-over-week, that dip did not affect its placement in the U.S. Top 50. It remained #1 in the country with 588.7 million weekly views. As summer ends and back-t0-school season begins, will Toys and Colors lose its prominent perch within the rankings?
🥈 J House jr. has equalled its highest-ever placement in the U.S. Top 50. Like the channel above it, this short-form standout is dedicated to the early education and entertainment of young children. That audience is YouTube’s biggest, and J House jr. has driven huge viewership volume over the past few months. It continued its upward trend by adding 495.1 million weekly views at the end of August. That was a 46% week-over-week bump that pushed it from fifth place in the ranking all the way up to second.
🥉 Zack D. Films also enjoyed a big upward move during the last seven-day period of the month. The notable short-form clip aggregator, who adds narration to phenomenal clips from across the internet, seems to have developed the perfect formula for Shorts success. His synopses brought in 410 million weekly views, which was good for a 24% week-over-week increase and a move from sixth place up to third. Zack D. Films has gotten big enough that he can reasonably make a video about his own rise to prominence.
🌟 Dylan Anderson shares a lot of commonalities with the #3 channel in the U.S. Top 50. Like Zach D. Films, Anderson pulls together memorable moments from across the web and summarizes them using simple language that can appeal to viewers of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds. His inclusive approach to Shorts has been rewarding, and his win streak continued during our most recent seven-day measurement period, when his primary channel brought in 382.7 million weekly views and secured a fourth-place finish in the U.S. Top 50.
✨ MrBeast‘s position in the U.S. Top 50 has been a bit volatile of late, but Jimmy Donaldson stuck around in the U.S. top five by occupying the final spot in that group. His primary channel collected 376.9 million weekly views.
Top Gainers
Children’s content is the most popular category on YouTube Shorts, but comedy creators like Alan Chikin Chow have also carved out places in the ranking for themselves. A channel that could combine those two categories would surely provide a potent mix — but does such a combo even exist?
Sure it does. Just check out Jay and Sharon, a comedic couple channel that has emerged as one of the biggest draws on Shorts. The titular pair are experienced vertical video creators who adapted to YouTube’s short-form meta and slowly worked their way up our weekly charts.
At the end of August, Jay and Sharon sat in 20th place in the U.S. Top 50, an all-time high for the duo. They moved up 18 spots after building up their traffic by 45% week-over-week. Thanks to that increase, they topped out with 178.2 million weekly views.
Jay & Sharon were making hilarious videos together before having a kid (and the pregnancy even generated some video ideas), but their channel has leveled up since the birth of their child. The youngest member of Jay & Sharon’s family has shown up in some videos and has inspired a push toward parenting content, which thrives on YouTube Shorts.
Thanks to their ever-evolving content operation, Jay & Sharon have been able to support their family and explore longer runtimes. And hey — given the amount of tax commentary on this channel, I could see the kid running for office one day.
