The VTubers of Nijisanji are performing a concert on April 14

On April 14, characters affiliated with a prominent VTuber agency are hitting an augmented reality “stage” to perform a concert. 15 Nijisanji VTubers will participate in Colors, a show that will be streamed to fans around the world.

According to the official Colors website, the show will be a pre-recorded live stream that will be broadcast on Nijisanji’s official YouTube channel. As with other events led by virtual creators, such as the VTuber Awards, Colors will not be hosted at an in-person location. The stream will be the only way to take in the spectacle, which will be spread across two AR venues: The “Pastel Stage” and the “Vivid Stage.”

Performers will include some of the most popular Nijisanji-affiliated VTubers, including Vox Akuma and Luca Kaneshiro. The stream is slated to go live at 10 AM Japanese time, which translates to 9 PM the previous evening (April 13) on the East Coast of the United States.

Dexerto notes that Colors was initially slated for April 2023, but that event was canceled due to scheduling delays associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Viewers who received refunds for their tickets a year ago can now purchase passes to the upcoming show, which will hosted on Stagecloud, a platform operated by Sony Music Solutions.

Nijisanji’s success as a VTuber agency has led to skyrocketing profits for parent company Anycolor, whose founder Riku Tazumi is one of Japan’s youngest billionaires. The company’s meteoric rise has not come without controversy. Some of Nijisanji’s brand partners cancelled sponsorship deals in response to its contentious termination of Selen Tatsuki‘s contract.

Now, the remaining Nijisanji VTubers will have a chance to show themselves off to a global audience. Stay tuned to Stagecloud to catch the action next month.
