Twenty-four Twitch streamers are going head-to-head in a Tekken tournament organized by fighting game content creator Sajam.
The Sajam Tekken Slam will have streamers like Sykkuno, LilyPichu, Disguised Toast, Sydeon, emilyywang, and Scarra split into teams of four. Those teams are currently spending a week training with fighting game experts Phidx, JustinWong, JoeyFury, Brawlpro, ThenameisMYK, and KawaiiFaceMiles.
Once they’re coached up, teams will duke it out during the livestreamed tournament, which runs March 8 and 10 on Sajam’s Twitch channel (140K followers).
Per Esports Illustrated, the tournament will be “Waseda style,” where each of the four players will be matched to an opponent from the
competing team. The four pairs will compete, with the team who gets the most wins out of those four matchups moving on to the next stage of the tournament. If the teams wind up with a 2-2 draw, their coaches will play, and the winning coach will take it for their team.Sajam has indicated the tournament will have prizes, but hasn’t said exactly what those prizes will be.
