The theme of this week’s U.S. Top 50 is clear: Creators who fail to split their uploads between long-form videos and Shorts run the risk of falling behind the pack.
The top channels in the chart are a mix of short-form standouts and multiformat stars. The #1 channel falls into the former of those categories.

After finishing second in the U.S. Top 50 a week ago, MaviGadget has returned to the #1 spot in our all-American rankings. The short-form hub swept the top spots in our two weekly rankings by picking up 664.4 million weekly views. The channel known for its coverage of machinery, technology, and innovations is about to reach 20 billion lifetime views on YouTube. That’s a significant total, but the next three channels in the ranking have all surpassed that sum at least two times over. Long story short, MaviGadget will need to invent a go go gadget audience growth machine to keep its hold on the #1 spot.
There’s a big gap between the top two spots in the U.S. Top 50. Vlad and Niki rose to the #1 position in this ranking a week ago, but the channel hosted by its two titular kidfluencers dropped back to #2 after losing 6% of its YouTube traffic week-over-week. That dip left Vlad and Niki with 479.3 million weekly views, which was the highest seven-day total among channels that prioritize long-form uploads over YouTube Shorts activity. The family-friendly channel has more than 85 billion lifetime views, which is the most traffic received by any of this week’s top five entrants.
The third-place finisher in the U.S. Top 50 is another channel that provides a mix of short-form and long-form videos to an audience of young viewers. Toys and Colors focuses on the simple subjects in its channel to deliver a viewing experience that fits nicely into YouTube’s early education category. Though this Pocket.watch-affiliated channel has fallen off a bit since earning some #1 placements last year, it is still going strong in terms of weekly viewership. During the third week in February, it picked up 473 million weekly views.
MrBeast is next in the U.S. Top 50. During the week when he landed on the cover of Time magazine, Jimmy Donaldson continued to entertain his 240 million YouTube subscribers with videos that explore extreme and out-there ideas. Even if MrBeast’s growing power and influence scares you, there’s no need to face your fears before marvelling at Donaldson’s impressive view count. He reached fourth place in the U.S. Top 50 after accruing 420 million views during the week that was.
NetFlex rounds out this week’s U.S. top five. The short-form hub made its first-ever appearance in the top five after earning 270.2 million weekly views.

Haley Kalil‘s YouTube career is on the up-and-up. The influencer and model, who reaches more than five million subscribers on her primary channel, just made her first appearance in the U.S. Top 50.
Kalil has been busy over the past year. She helped YouTube hype its acquisition of the NFL Sunday Ticket package, drank pickle juice as part of a game show, and signed with talent agency CAA. Those exploits, however, haven’t done as much for her U.S. Top 50 ranking as her diligent and regular activity on YouTube Shorts. Kalil’s channel counts 18 Shorts with at least 30 million views — no pickle juice necessary.
Though Kalil herself is the star of her most-watched clips, another creator makes multiple appearances in her YouTube Shorts library. I’m talking about director Max Goodrich, who works with Kalil to add special-effects embellishments into otherwise mundane videos. If Kalil is moonwalking with her hand or using a shirt as a napkin, Goodrich is probably not far away. He also serves as Kalil’s designated lightsaber wielder, which is handy in a pinch.
Thanks to videos like these, Kalil picked up 94.2 million weekly views during the third week of February. That was just enough for her to claim the 50th and final spot in the U.S. Top 50. She reached that position after improving her YouTube traffic by 32% week-over-week.
Kalil is in the U.S. Top 50 for the first time this year, but probably not the last. Here’s hoping her ongoing upswing continues throughout 2024.
