The top five finishers in this month’s Global Top 100 were the only YouTube channels in the world to get at least two billion views during January.

The #1 channel was in a class of its own as the only hub with at least three billion monthly views. That traffic was enough to secure a second-straight visit to the front of the Global Top 100.
Chart Toppers
T-Series began 2024 in the same place where it ended 2023: atop our ranking of the most-watched channels in the world. The Indian record label continues to smash records nearly 18 years after its initial arrival on YouTube. By getting 3.01 billion monthly views in January, T-Series pushed its platform-leading lifetime viewership total to 245.5 billion. Its subscriber count is also tops on YouTube as well. No other channel reaches as big of an audience as T-Series’ 258 million subscribers, though MrBeast is giving the label a run for its money in that category.
Speaking of MrBeast, he’s up next in the Global Top 100. After enjoying a stretch of profitable partnerships during the holiday season, Jimmy Donaldson continued his hot streak into 2024. His high-profile challenges, games, and spectacles — which he complements with regular Shorts uploads — have made his main MrBeast channel into the most-watched and most-subscribed creator hub on YouTube. Its January totals included 2.46 billion monthly views and enough new subscribers to bring its count to 236 million.
ToRung earned its first #1 finish in a weekly chart during January, and over the month as a whole, it had its best-ever stretch on YouTube. The Vietnam-based comedy destination ranked the highest among all YouTube Shorts-based channels in the Global Top 100. By nearly doubling its viewership month-over-month, ToRung moved from 24th place in our ranking up to third. Its 31-day viewership added up to 2.27 billion monthly views.
Another big gainer moved into the #4 spot in the Global Top 100. SET India ranked 15th in our worldwide roundup in December, but it surged forward 11 places after getting 73% more views than what it picked up in the previous month. The Sony-owned hub, which provides TV-adjacent content to consumers across South Asia, added 2.19 billion monthly views in January. With 158 billion lifetime views, SET India is third (trailing T-Series and CoComelon) among all entrants in the up-to-date Global Top 100.
MaviGadget, which also scored some #1 finishes across our charts in January, rounds out the month’s global top five. The YouTube Shorts hub collected 2.12 billion monthly views to move up from ninth.
Top Gainers
Would you rather be a gymnastics champion or a famous influencer? Mariano Razo doesn’t have to choose between those two goals, because he’s accomplished both of them before the age of 25.
Razo, who is one of Mexico’s two representatives in this month’s Global Top 100, first achieved prominence as his homeland’s national all-around gymnastics champion. He earned that lofty title three times in four years, winning in 2012, 2014, and 2015.
His exploits on the mat helped him cultivate a presence on Instagram, and he earned a spot in the creator house called Mansion Lit, though he has since moved out. These days, much of Mariano’s social media activity is centered on YouTube, where his mostly short-form videos reach more than 19 million subscribers.
As you might expect, Razo’s aerial abilities factor into his YouTube Shorts content. He is sometimes seen diving in the shape of letters and tackling obstacle courses, but his list of most-watched videos also includes plenty of Shorts that require no gymnastics talent whatsoever. Like many other creators, Razo iterates on memes, attempts ludicrous challenges, and shows off his editing skill. If Final Cut Pro ever becomes an apparatus in the all-around, Razo is well-positioned to resume his sports career.
Razo didn’t need his magic scissors to cut through the clutter in January 2024. During the first month of the year, he collected 761.4 million monthly views, which put him in 80th place in the Global Top 100. Razo ranked 85th a month ago, but a 13% month-over-month traffic bump pushed him into his current chart position.
Based on the types of content he produces, we can infer Razo’s opinions about his chosen career paths. He still likes to show off his high-flying abilities, but it seems that the typical life of a Shorts creator appeals to him even more.
