For the fourth year in a row, TikTok is putting together its own Super Bowl show. The short-form video app has announced that Gwen Stefani will headline this year’s TikTok Tailgate, which will also feature appearances from NFL players and top TikTokers.
TikTok Tailgate coverage will be available on the official NFL TikTok account. Stefani, who counts more than three million followers on her personal TikTok hub will celebrate her music’s popularity among short-form audiences. A Newsroom post from TikTok noted that Stefani’s classic single “Hollaback Girl” has been used in more than 32,000 “creations”, while her 2004 track “Rich Girl” has appeared in 133,000 creations.

“We all know how massive of an event Super Bowl is, and I am so honored I get to be a part of it and perform at the Super Bowl TikTok Tailgate,” Stefani said in a statement. “Can’t wait to see you all in Vegas!”
As it prepares to bring a standalone music platform to the United States, TikTok is marketing itself as a tastemaking force in the recording industry. To sell that reputation, the app has turned to chart-topping stars. It recently put on a concert called In The Mix, which paired headliners like Cardi B and Charlie Puth with some rising TikTok stars.
The 2023 TikTok Tailgate featured its own celebrity guest list. Performers included The Black Keys and Jason Derulo, but the event was much more than just a pre-Super Bowl concert. It was also an opportunity for TikTok to show off its marketing capabilites on the ad world’s biggest stage. Amidst the performances, TikTok pitched potential brand partners on the high-visibility campaign types it offers.
Stefani’s 2024 TikTok Tailgate performance will go live before kickoff on February 11. The show, like the Big Game itself, will be broadcast from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
