‘The Sopranos’ is on TikTok now. Capeesh?

The Sopranos is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024, and the drama series is taking its party to TikTok. On a newly-minted accountSopranos rights holder Warner Bros. Discovery (the parent company of HBO and the Max streaming service) is sharing 25-second recaps of every Sopranos episode.

At the time of this post, the “Sopranos in :25″ series is midway through season two, but the plot summaries will continue until the show’s controversial season six finale. If you’ve never seen the legendary HBO hit before, Warner Bros. Discovery is hoping to tempt you into a binge by delivering iconic moments in bite-sized packages. All you need to do is step into Dr. Melfi’s office, and the rest is history.

If the TikTok clips whet your appetite for more Sopranos, Max is dropping some episodes on its official YouTube channel. Those freebies are only the start of the show’s 25th anniversary bash. Max is releasing 15 deleted scenes, including three that haven’t been seen before, and the streamer is also planning a private “family dinner” for the show’s cast. The location of that dinner hasn’t been disclosed, but my money’s on Vesuvio.

Fans won’t get invites to that January 10 shindig, but they’ll have access to several other Sopranos experiences that go live on the same day. A partnership between Max and Alamo Drafthouse is bringing “Family Reunion” screenings to theaters in New York and Los Angeles. More adventurous fans can visit pop-up versions of Satriale’s and order Sopranos-inspired sandwiches, but if you’ve finished the show’s first episode, you’ll know what the “pork” is really made of.

The Sopranos left an indelible imprint on the global entertainment culture and was instrumental in defining HBO as the destination for groundbreaking, award-winning programming,” said HBO and Max EVP of Brand, Content, and Creative of Streaming Marketing Zach Enterlin. “The many ways we will honor this 25-year milestone will allow fans to celebrate the Soprano legacy and pay tribute to the characters that have had such an enduring impact.”

To cap off a busy January in Sopranos-land (i.e. New Jersey), Max will distribute a special episode of Not Today, Pal, the podcast hosted by Sopranos cast members Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Robert Iler. Across the Max YouTube channel and major podcasting platforms, the actors who portrayed Tony Soprano’s children will reminisce about life on the show’s set.
