Hot Ones brings back Holiday Extravaganza fundraiser with its first-ever three-time guest

Hot Ones has brought back its holiday-season charity drive for the third consecutive December. The YouTube interview series hosted by Sean Evans has uploaded its latest Holiday Extravaganza in support of Common Threads.

The Hot Ones Holiday Extravaganza is a 40-minute revue filled with games, interviews, and guest appearances. The fundraiser has become an annual tradition on the First We Feast channel. Last year, the BuzzFeed-owned hub set a $150,000 goal for its Common Threads campaign. At the time of this post, the 2023 Holiday Extravaganza has raised more than $17,000 toward its charitable mission.

Segments in the Holiday Extravaganza include a game of Would You Rather, the annual Hot Ones Awards, and a cooking show hosted by Esther Choi and Chili Klaus. Choi, a chef and restaurateur, launched her own First We Feast show earlier this year.

Another tradition in the Hot Ones Holiday Extravaganza is an interview with a guest who has already passed through Evans’ spicy wing gauntlet. This year’s repeat customer is Steve-O of Jackass fame, who became the first celeb to appear three different times as a Hot Ones guest.

Hot Ones came under the BuzzFeed umbrella after the 2021 acquisition of its parent company Complex Networks. As part of BuzzFeed’s end-of-year celebrations, the media company published a list of its most-read articles and most-watched videos. Evans’ Hot Ones interview with Wednesday star Jenna Ortega ranked as the show’s top episode of the year, with 19.2 million total views. That’s more than twice the viewership received by the most-watched BuzzFeed Celeb video of the year (an interview with Barbie stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.)

As far as text posts goes, the most-read BuzzFeed article was a takedown of Justin Timberlake’s critics. In second place was — you guessed it — a listicle.
