The top dog in the 250 million club was the only U.S.-based channel to get 400 million weekly views during the third full week of December.
Chart Toppers
Toys and Colors didn’t get quite as many views as it received over our previous seven-day period, but its performance leading up to December 18 was still strong enough to secure the #1 spot in the Global Top 50. The kid-friendly channel reeled in 405 million weekly views by pairing educational concepts with bright visuals and peppy cast members. It turns out that toys and colors are two concepts that preschool-age children love the most — and that’s one reason why the channel named after those two things now has nearly 50 million subscribers.
MrBeast followed right behind Toys and Colors for the second week in a row. The alter ego of mild-mannered creator Jimmy Donaldson is still the most-followed individual creator on YouTube, with 219 million subscribers in all. Donaldson’s massive YouTube audience turns his big-budget videos into instant blockbusters. In our latest count, MrBeast collected 331.9 million weekly views. That was 18% less traffic than his previous seven-day sum, but he still ranks #2 in the U.S. Top 50. With more high-profile projects coming soon, MrBeast has a good chance to make a return visit to this chart’s leading spot.
MaviGadget moved up five spots to reach #3 in the U.S. Top 50. The home for all things mechanical is the highest-ranking U.S.-based hub among the channels that are predominantly active on YouTube Shorts. With its short-form explorations of the industrialized world, MaviGadget picked up 307.6 million weekly views. That was good for a 20% week-over-week boost that brought the Shorts hub above 15 billion lifetime YouTube views. That’s the lowest lifetime total among this week’s top five U.S. channels, but if MaviGadget keeps up its current pace, it will close the gap quickly.
Another YouTube Shorts channel is up next in the U.S. Top 50. ViralHog has become a regular presence in our charts by collecting popular clips from across the internet and uploading them in one location. Turns out that’s a pretty good strategy: ViralHog surpassed 25 billion lifetime YouTube views a week ago, and it followed up that success by taking in 268.3 million weekly views repeating its fourth-place finish in the U.S. Top 50. ViralHog will hit another milestone in our next update, when it will reach 20 million subscribers.
Vlad and Niki rounds out this week’s U.S. top five. The family-oriented channel is known for its globetrotting adventures, which star the two titular boys. Vlad and Niki recorded 253.7 million weekly views during the week ending on December 17.

Marble Run is a classic title, but if current YouTube Shorts trends mean anything, the old-school game could be one of the hot gifts of the 2023 holiday season. A channel called Marble Run and More just made its first appearance in the U.S. Top 50 thanks to videos that mix colored stones with the soft, soothing sounds of ASMR.
The Marble Run and More YouTube channel is only about two years old, but it is named after a toy that’s been on the market for decades. The channel’s faceless host sets up Marble Run courses and shares the results with 2.6 million subscribers. The path the marbles take doesn’t seem as important as the sounds they make. Why else would Marble Run and More post a video that offers nothing more than the sound of falling objects? There’s a lot of cleanup involved, but the video’s 186 million views speak for themselves.
Other Marble Run and More videos put twists on the basic concept. There’s a few that are Marble Run plus a cat and others that get into the holiday spirit by mixing in some Christmas ornaments among other round objects.
The abundance of Yuletide-tinged videos in the Marble Run and More library helps explain why the channel had such a good week during the current pre-Christmas period. Marble Run and More rolled up 102 million views during the week that ended on December 17. That sum was big enough to put the marble-themed channel in 39th place in the U.S. Top 50.
Marble Run and More achieved its highest-ever U.S. Top 50 ranking by doubling its viewership week-over-week. (It’s also growing on TikTok as well.) If it doubles again next week, it could reach the top ten of our all-American ranking. But for that to happen, viewers will still have to show interest in marble sounds even after the end of the holiday shopping season. Is round object ASMR a seasonal fad or the next big thing on YouTube Shorts? We’re about to find out.
