Addison Rae enters “scream queen era” with role in horror flick ‘Thanksgiving’

Addison Rae Easterling‘s latest acting role comes in a holiday-themed horror movie. The TikTok star and Gen Z icon has a supporting role in Thanksgiving, a new film from director Eli Roth.

Thanksgiving is a slasher film that takes place against the backdrop of Black Friday sales. Easterling portrays Gabby, a popular girl who is best friends with the protagonist Jessica (played by Nell Verlaque). Based on the movie’s trailer, I wouldn’t bet on Gabby to make it through Thanksgiving alive.

Thanksgiving began as a fake trailer that played during the 2007 double feature Grindhouse. More than 15 years later, Roth brought a full version of the movie to theaters. Thanksgiving has received generally favorable reviews, with critic Jeremy Jahns describing it as “a really fun, bloody slasher flick.”

Easterling, who was attached to Thanksgiving nine months before its release, is one of TikTok’s most-followed personalities. She has harnessed her massive audience to make millions

from sponsorships and brand deals, and like many TikTokers, she has Hollywood aspirations. She made a splash with a starring role in He’s All That, a gender-bent She’s All That remake that hit Netflix in 2021. She followed up that credit by inking a multi-project deal with Netflix.

Thanks to her role in Thanksgiving, Easterling can add a horror film to her acting oeuvre. Or, as one X user put it, the TikTok star is now in her “scream queen era.”

Thanksgiving may scare viewers away from Black Friday sales, but those who brave the shops during the holiday season can pick up a number of Addison Rae-approved items. Since breaking out on TikTok, she has attached her name to multiple products, including a makeup line called Item Beauty and a collection of dolls that are sold via Walmart.
