The only entrant in the U.S. top five that appeals to viewers other than kids is the channel that led this ranking last week.
Chart Toppers
Welcome to the #1 spot, Toys and Colors. The all-ages content destination has factored into our U.S. Top 50 charts for years, but it has rarely had a sniff of the top position until now. Toys and Colors ascended to an all-time high ranking in the chart after collecting 529 million weekly views. That total made Toys and Colors the only U.S.-based channel with at least 500 million weekly views, and it has a cushion of more than 100 million hits over the next channel in the chart. All in all, it was a week to remember for this longtime YouTube hitmaker.
Like Nastya moved up two spots to land in the runner-up position in the U.S. Top 50. The first of three kidfluencer channels in our U.S. top five was able to outpace most of its competition by raking in 420.4 million weekly views. Even if Like Nastya continues to place highly in our charts, the channel led by its titular nine-year-old star probably won’t reach 100 billion lifetime YouTube views by the end of the near. That goal can be on the docket for early 2024.
After conquering this chart for most of October, MrBeast had an off week during the final seven days of the month. The YouTuber born Jimmy Donaldson picked up 381.8 million weekly views on his primary YouTube channel. That would be a record-setting week for many, but for someone who just topped this chart four weeks in a row, third place is a bit of a let-off. Once Donaldson debuts his next big-budget spectacle, his view total is likely to rebound, so this blip might just be an anomaly for YouTube’s most-watched individual.
Vlad and Niki came within one million views of MrBeast, but the family channel couldn’t quite stick in the #3 spot. One week after ranking second in the U.S. Top 50, Vlad and Niki fell to fourth despite tallying 380.9 million weekly views. Mighty as that number may be, it was 24% less viewership compared to the previous week. This family vlog, which has roots in Eastern Europe and a home in the United States, continues to fluctuate near the front of our weekly ranking.
Kids Diana Show made it three family vlogs in the top five of this week’s U.S. Top 50. Diana and her family finished just shy of the two channels ahead of them, adding 377.1 million views during the week that was.
Top Gainers
Some channels reach our Top 50 charts by sticking closely to the trends popularized by other creators. BOATSNAPS, however, is riding its own wave.
“The life of the rich and famous in Miami is one of luxury and leisure, centered around their magnificent yachts.” That’s how the BOATSNAPS About page describes the corresponding channel, which uploads drone footage of South Florida’s most extravagant party boats.
The channel is basically a seaborne paparazzi crew, and that status explains a lot of its most-watched Shorts. BOATSNAPS loves a salacious thumbnail or a revealing shot. The channel’s tactics are not so savory, but there’s no arguing with the results: BOATSNAPS got 128.1 million weekly views during the last full week of October, which put it in 26th place in the U.S. Top 50. The aquatic channel has more than 1.5 billion lifetime YouTube views in all.
Amidst all the lewdness, BOATSNAPS does offer a picture of Miami’s yacht culture. There are celebrity sightings and docking mishaps to go along with all the “yacht queens.” It seems like a fun scene, as long as you don’t mind the drones circling overhead and the boaters struggling to control their watercraft.
Unlike most of the channels in the U.S. Top 50, BOATSNAPS is not kid-friendly. Its success on YouTube Shorts is a reminder that sex appeal continues to sell, even in an era of vertical videos.
Channel Distribution
