In a period defined by YouTube Shorts dominance, the leading channels in this week’s U.S. Top 50 all incorporate long-form videos in one way or another. Some of those channels can trace their beginnings to Shorts, but they are adopting multiformat approaches to reach as many viewers as possible.

Based on the family-friendly nature of the U.S. top five entrants, it would seem that YouTube’s youngest users are still the drivers of the platform’s most significant viewership trends.
Chart Toppers
MrBeast is in the midst of a dominant October. After hitting the #1 spot in the U.S. Top 50 a week ago, North Carolina-based creator Jimmy Donaldson consolidated his lead by picking up 730.7 million weekly views, which represented a 14% week-over-week bump. Donaldson also became the first individual creator to crack 200 million YouTube subscribers. That audience is also the largest among all channels — individuals, companies, and collectives included — in the U.S. Top 50. No wonder Donaldson can afford to produce so many splashy videos.
The #1 channel in the U.S. Top 50 reaches viewers of all ages, but the runner-up exclusively caters to YouTube’s youngest set. The success of Toys and Colors is all in a name. After all, what topics do kids love more than fun toys and bright colors? With its simple yet effective formula, Toys and Colors added 487.3 million views during the week that was. Thanks to that traffic, the longtime chart-topper earned a second-consecutive #2 finish in our star-spangled ranking.
The first of two family vlogs in the U.S. top five achieved a third-place finish. Like Nastya has hit the #1 spot in this chart before, and it made a push toward that territory by snagging 343.5 million weekly views during the second full week of October. That sum represented a 6% week-over-week bump for nine-year-old Nastya and her family, and they moved up one spot as a result. Turns out there are a lot of toddlers who are eager to “play, learn, sing, explore and share” alongside on YouTube’s most notable kidfluencers.
Another channel with a strong following among today’s youth is sitting in the #4 spot in the U.S. Top 50. DaFuq!?Boom! established itself as one of the first cultural touchstones of Generation Alpha by pioneering the “skibidi toilet” meme, which emerged as a YouTube Shorts sensation over the summer. Months later, DaFuq!?Boom! is still a major player in our charts. By claiming 289.5 million weekly views, it posted a 24% week-over-week traffic bump that propelled it up six spots before it landed in fourth.
Another family vlog, Vlad and Niki, rounds out this week’s U.S. top five. The all-ages destination, which has long had a presence in this chart, earned 273.9 million weekly views.
Top Gainers
There are 37 YouTube Shorts channels included in this week’s U.S. Top 50, and many of them claim millions of weekly views by aggregating hits from across the short-form world. The creator featured in this week’s Top Gainers section, however, is a true original. Say hello to TooTurntTony.
That’s the internet alias of Anthony Dawson, an outlandish individual who broke out on TikTok and is now making a name for himself on YouTube. While other creators follow the short-form trends that reliably provide the best chance of a viral explosion, TooTurntTony is a trendsetter in his own right. How many YouTube Shorts standouts can say that they’ve hotboxed a bathroom with their grandma, raised baby ducks, and created wild boar art? Dawson has done all that, and he still has time for a shirtless jaunt through Dick’s Sporting Goods.
With some help from his family and his yellow-billed friends, Dawson has carved out a place for himself in the U.S. Top 50. During our most recent seven-day measurement period, the TooTurntTony YouTube channel picked up 103.2 million weekly views. Though that only represented a 6% week-over-week traffic increase, Dawson got a big enough bump to move from 54th place up to 33rd. His YouTube channel may not have 20 million followers like his TikTok account, but it’s making steady progress with more than four million subscribers and nearly three billion lifetime views.
Emboldened by his multiplatform success, Dawson is developing his personal brand through a host of initiatives. His Too Turnt Tea is available across the United States, and he continues to add new animal friends to his personal farm. If you’re overwhelmed by everything he has going on, I have bad news for you: It’s possible that you are only a normal amount of turnt, and therefore short of the energy level required to keep up with this short-form dynamo.
