The five YouTube channels that got the most views during September 2023 all pulled in at least two billion views over a 30-day period. That incredible rate of traffic underscores the impact YouTube Shorts has had in its first two years of activity.

The #1 channel in the chart is so far ahead of its competition that it cracked the three billion view threshold on the final day of the month.
Chart Toppers
KIMPRO is reminding the YouTube Shorts community that it’s no amateur operation. The hub run by a pair of Korean pros landed at the front of the Global Top 100 by snagging 3.06 billion monthly views during September. In its home country, KIMPRO is a pioneer of short-form content and a propagator of buzzy memes like the “sigma girl” fad. Those qualities have helped the Shorts hub collect more than 26 billion lifetime YouTube views while attracting more than 25 million subscribers. Even with half as many monthly views, KIMPRO would have still found a spot among the top 12 channels in this chart.
T-Series‘ 30-day traffic lagged a bit behind KIMPRO, but the Indian record label still managed to repeat as the runner-up in the Global Top 100. It ended up with 2.47 billion monthly views in September, which was 9% more traffic than the sum it produced in August. T-Series continues to lead YouTube in both lifetime viewership and subscribers. In the latter category, it recently achieved an unprecedented milestone by pushing its subscriber count above 250 million. Not even MrBeast can match that total.
In terms of raw viewership, ZAMZAM ELECTRONICS TRADING had its best month ever in September 2023. The Dubai retail outlet strung together a chain of top-five finishes in our weekly charts. When you add together all of those strong performances, the result is 2.19 billion monthly views, or about 16% of ZAMZAM’s lifetime traffic on YouTube. If ZAMZAM can repeat its 34% month-over-month bump in October, it could land in rare territory. For now, it ranks #3 in the Global Top 100 chart.
Celine Dept outkicked the competition in September to reach fourth place in the Global Top 100. The highest-ranking channel in Belgium earned 2.1 billion monthly views thanks to a variety of soccer-themed videos. By demonstrating drills and taking on “name the player” challenges, Dept and her partner Michiel have developed an innovative brand of short-form sports content. With a long winter full of soccer in her future, Dept has a chance to rise even higher in our worldwide ranking.
Last month’s #1 finisher rounded out this month’s global top five. KL BRO Biju Rithvik continued its short-form hot streak by adding 2.07 billion monthly views.
Top Gainers
Germany only has one representative in the Global Top 100, but he’s been hovering near the top of our Tubefilter charts for quite some time. Boxtoxtv has developed a signature format that requires nothing more than a few media clips, a big-screen TV, and a sense of ingenuity.
The most-watched Boxtox video serves as a perfect example of the channel’s signature style. By squirting sunscreen onto his TV screen at the perfect moment, the German creator makes it seem as if some bird droppings have landed on Vladimir Putin’s shirt. He then adds new twists to his formula by imagining that pop culture characters are reacting to his liquid-based additions.
Boxtox is not the first creator to build humor by mixing 2D and 3D surfaces. Vine legend Zach King is noted for his ability to pull off similar tricks, though his videos are usually aided by computer graphics rather than practical effects. By tapping into pop culture during his visual gags, Boxtox brings in a global audience.
That audience delivered 883.1 million monthly views to the main Boxtox YouTube channel during September. That sum was high enough to secure a 61st-place finish in the Global Top 100. Boxtox’s 30-day total amounted to a 31% month-over-month traffic increase for a channel that had already cracked worldwide ranking in August.
Boxtox needs all the viewership he can get. I can’t even imagine how much money he spends cleaning his collection of high-definition TV screens.
