Brittany Broski goes ‘Game of Thrones’ for YouTube interview series ‘Royal Court’

Hear ye, hear ye! The Royal Court is now in session, with queen Brittany Broski presiding over the festivities.

Broski (real name Brittany Tomlinson) is the creator and host of a new interview series that will go live on her official YouTube channel. Royal Court will feature a Medieval milieu and a format designed to capitalize on the popularity of short-form clips. In a teaser for the show, Broski donned her most daunting furs and took some moody castle shots at Sands Point Preserve in New York.

The tone of that trailer may remind you of a certain HBO fantasy series that ended in 2019, and that’s the exact mood Broski is trying to evoke. “I’m a Game of Thrones adult. I think that that whole era was so fun. I’m a big fantasy reader as well, like knights, dragons, and fairies,” Broski told Rolling Stone. “So I was like, ‘What is a way to incorporate that and have fun with that?'”

As she welcomes her guests into her court, Broski will keep the current online video meta in mind. “I want to take that viral-clip nature of the internet and give you a show of 100 of those moments,” she said. “But I also think that’s really important to have these moments where it is the interviewer and the celebrity to their core interacting.”

Broski is no stranger to viral short-form content. Her breakout on TikTok has afforded her several prominent hosting opportunities, including a recent gig doing red carpet interviews at the premiere of the film Barbie. She has also co-hosted the podcast Violating Community Guidelines alongside Sarah Schauer. That show ended last year, and Broski moved on to her own podcast, The Broski Report. She told Rolling Stone that Royal Court is her first opportunity to fully take control of a project.

Of course, an interview show is nothing without its guests. Broski hasn’t offered many details about the stars who will visit her court, but they are described as “pop culture royalty” who will face challenges in order to win spots on Broski’s “medieval council.” The first royal up will be musician Orville Peck, who joins Broski for the inaugural Royal Court episode, due out July 20.
