YouTube has big plans for creators in Quebec. This coming fall, the video platform will head to Montreal to launch an initiative called CNCPT MTL.
20 Quebecois creators will be selected to participate in a “made-for-Quebec accelerator program” that will launch alongside CNCPT MTL. YouTube and industry experts will also host sessions and panels for the benefit of local creators. Networking opportunities are also on the docket.
The pop-up in Montreal will be the second CNCPT space YouTube has established in Canada. Last year, the leading video platform linked up with Toronto incubator HXOUSE to open a CNCPT pop-up in the Six. That hub, described as “a place where creativity starts,” served a similar role to the YouTube Spaces that operated in several cities (including Toronto) until that program was discontinued in 2021.

YouTube’s decision to expand the CNCPT brand will serve a growing community of Quebec-based creators. A blog post cited several of those videomakers, including Cynthia Dulude, Montreality, and short-form standouts Raphael La Ferrara and 2 Filles Ordinaires.
“We know that all creators have different needs, including Quebec-based creators,” reads a YouTube blog post. “With the growth we’re seeing in the Quebec market, we know there’s an opportunity to go deeper with emerging Quebec-based creators, and help them take their craft to the next level.”
Adjacent to CNCPT MTL, YouTube will also support the Mural Festival, Montreal’s showcase of urban art. As part of its efforts, the platform will facilitate meet-and-greets with talented creatives, including Dulude and La Ferrara.
The specific dates during which CNCPT MTL will be active have not yet been publicly revealed.
