VShojo loses 3 top VTubers, including one who says new contracts didn’t make “financial sense”

Three prominent creators have left VTuber-focused talent company VShojo in the past week.

Silvervale (who has 441K followers on Twitch), Veibae (625K subscribers on YouTube), and Nyanners (one million on Twitch and 1.25 million on YouTube) have all elected not to renew their contracts with San Francisco-based VShojo.

In an April 26 tweet thread, Veibae said she chose to leave VShojo because “new contracts didnt make any financial sense to me.”

“can’t say much else cuz of legal shit n stuff but plz be kind to everyone involved, dont make weird rumors up to control ur made up narrative,” she added. “and for all indies, ALWAYS hire a lawyer to read through any contract, however minor it may seem. i know it’s a scary process to think about but you’ll be so fuckin thankful down the line. HIRE LAWYERS THAT KNOW WHAT THE INDUSTRY STANDARDS ARE.”

Nyanners also issued a statement on Twitter, saying her decision to leave is “my own and not a reflection of my relationship with any of the other members, and it is something I have been seriously deliberating for a while.”

VShojo confirmed all three VTubers will retain the IP to their characters, so they’ll be able to continue using their established names and models.

Following Silvervale, Veibae, and Nyanners’ exits, Kson, a VTuber who’s remaining in VShojo’s stable, tweeted that her current contract with the company has “no cons,” but she’s “sad to know that VShojo couldn’t afford more to make them stay.”

She did say that if she was offered a better contract, “like giving me 1M$ per month sponsorship, and if Vshojo couldn’t afford more, hell yeah I’m down. Contracts are BUSINESS after all!”

VShojo now reps eight VTubers across its U.S. and Japan divisions: Ironmouse, Zentreya, Projekt Melody, Apricot, Hime Hajime, Haruka, Nazuna Amemiya, and Kson.
