BrandArmy wants more creators to launch “superfan communities.” So it’s ponying up $5 million.

Creator brand-building company BrandArmy and talent management group We Are Verified are doling out $5 million to creators who launch “superfan subscription communities” on BrandArmy.

BrandArmy, for those not familiar, is a kind of safe-for-work, digital content creator-exclusive equivalent of OnlyFans. It invites creators with “well-engaged fandoms” to apply for its services, and if they’re approved, it helps them build the aforementioned “superfan communities” where they can make money through things like paywalled posts and livestreams, pay-to-send DMs and chats, and tips.

It and We Are Verified’s new $5 million “Creator Launch Fund” will give between $10,000 and $250,000 each to creators who join BrandArmy for the first time.

BrandArmy chose to work with Los Angeles-based We Are Verified for the fund because it’s “seen managed creator channels on BrandArmy generate significantly more revenue per month than creators running their account alone,” Ramon Mendez, BrandArmy’s co-founder and CEO, said in a statement.

We Are Verified “has been longtime advisors of our platform and are proven experts in this area so we’re happy to partner with them on what’s a first for superfan platforms,” Mendez added.

Creators will be picked to receive money from the fund “based on a deep data set compiled by both companies from previous performance on the BrandArmy platform,” the companies said in a press release.

Those who are selected will receive set monthly installments from BrandArmy until the total amount is paid out.

“Creators no longer have the luxury of just posting videos and making money the way they did 10 years ago,” Phil Ranta, COO of We Are Verified, said. “The Creator Launch Funds, along with BrandArmy’s platform, will help mitigate financial risk, build deeper fan relationships, and allow creators to spend more time creating.”
