The latest dining establishment opened by a major influencer is already drawing huge crowds. On November 12, vlogger David Dobrik showed up in Los Angeles to celebrate the opening of his pizza parlor Doughbrik’s, and his fans waited in hours-long lines to get slices for themselves.

Doughbrik’s, which the embattled creator announced last month, is located on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. According to KTLA, some patrons endured four-hour lines that stretched out of the brand-new establishment. TMZ noted that some opening-day attendees camped out overnight to ensure spots near the front of the queue. Others drove hundreds of miles just to meet the Vlog Squad leader.

“It’s so cliche to say, but it just doesn’t make any sense,” Dobrik told KTLA. “And I know that’s what everyone says, but when you’re here and you’re seeing this, it’s the most crazy feeling in the world.”

Doughbrik’s offers two different types of pizza, each one inspired by a Chicago-style pie. The “doughy” variety resembles a pan pizza, while “tavern” slices are inspired by Chicago’s thin-crust pizza export. Dobrik was born in Slovakia but grew up in the suburban town of Vernon Hills, Illinois. His Doughbrik’s business partner, Ilya Fedorovich, also has ties to the Chicagoland area.

As customers filtered into the Doughbrik’s building (which is a former Starbucks), they began offering their reviews of the establishment’s food. Some patrons found the prices to be a bit steep, though most diners enjoyed the quality of the pizza. (Slice prices range from $4.50 to $6.50, while whole pies cost up to $38.) Some negative reviewers focused less on the food and more on the infamous incidents in Dobrik’s checkered past.

Doughbrik’s won’t draw a four-hour wait every day, but the joint is likely to remain popular. Its Instagram page already has 85,000 subscribers, and it is located next door to Saddle Ranch Chop House, a hotspot for influencers like Dixie D’Amelio, Addison Rae, and Noah Beck.

Even at its peak, Doughbrik’s couldn’t quite match the hubbub generated by another influencer-led dining concept. When Jimmy Donaldson’s MrBeast Burger opened its first physical location, it broke the record for the most burgers sold in a single day at a single restaurant.
