Phil Ranta joins We Are Verified to build out creator services

Phil Ranta is headed to We Are Verified.

The Los Angeles-based talent management group has spent the past year building out a creator services department “which included the launch of NFT projects, podcasts, and end-to-end management and strategy on fan platforms,” We Are Verified said in a press release.

With Ranta as its new chief operating officer, We Are Verified plans to “continue expanding creator services efforts, as well as brand, web3, and platform relationships,” it said.

“I’ve spent nearly two decades in the creator economy, starting with branded profiles on MySpace and blip.tv,” Ranta said. “It’s time to help define the next evolution in the space.”

Since 2007, Ranta has held roles at a variety of creator-centric companies, including Super Deluxe, Fullscreen, Studio71, and Mobcrush. From 2019 to 2020, he served as Facebook’s head of gaming creators, then moved to augmented-reality startup Wormhole Labs

, where he held a “cross-functional” role overseeing product and development teams as well as Wormhole’s talent network and platform partnerships division.

Though he’ll no longer be Wormhole Labs’ CEO, he’s a board member and plans to continue advising the company, he says.

Jordan Worona, We Are Verified’s CEO, said that so far in 2022, the management group has helped make more than 1,000 pieces of branded content featuring more than 100 creators. That content has collectively generated “over $10 million in value for our clients,” he said.

“With new expansions in both our team and our partners, we expect to triple that goal in 2023,” Worona added. “With the best-in-class industry expertise of Phil Ranta on the team, we’ll unlock web3, investment, and platform partnership relationships as well.”
