Nathan Apodaca turned Fleetwood Mac into TikTok gold. Now he’s skating onto your TV.

Nathan Apodaca just got a guest starring role on a network TV series. The TikTok star, known for launching a major viral trend in 2020, appeared on the season two premiere of the FX series Reservation Dogs.

In his most famous video, Apodaca rode his skateboard down the street while chugging Ocean Spray cranberry juice and listening to the Fleetwood Mac song ‘Dreams.’ The video, sometimes referred to as Cranberry Dreams, spread quickly across TikTok. To date, it has received more than 83 million views, according to NBC News. By some estimates, content related to the video has drawn in about 500 million views. Go on, add one more to that tally:

Apodaca didn’t lay low after achieving a viral success story. Instead, he continued to develop his TikTok account, which goes by the handle 420doggface208. In his videos, he shares snippets of his life, and he often references his greatest hit. As of this post, his account reaches more than 7 million followers, and its content has received more than 113 million likes in all.

Enter Reservation Dogs. Apodaca appeared in a recent episode of FX comedy, which aired on August 2. His performance drew lots of positive reviews.

For Apodaca, a role on Reservation Dogs is fitting. The TikTok star is from the Northern Arapaho nation, and his feather tattoo features prominently in his most popular video. The FX series he starred on has been praised for its accurate portrayal of modern-day Indigenous life and culture.

Every viral star has their own reaction to sudden, tenuous fame. Good on Apodaca for expanding his career while still respecting the platform that vaulted him to the top.
