TikTok Launches Standalone ‘Seller’ App For Business-Minded Users — But Only In Indonesia

TikTok has released a standalone app – though it’s currently only available in Indonesia – that is designed to let business-minded users manage their ecommerce presence on the app.

The app, called TikTok Seller (pictured below), enables TikTokers to register their shops, managing inventory, analyze sales, oversee promotional campaigns, interface with customers, and more, Techcrunch reports.

The app arrived on iOS earlier this month, and launched on Android in November.

“Brands on TikTok have found a creative outlet to authentically connect with audiences,” TikTok told Techcrunch of the launch, “and we’re excited to experiment with new commerce opportunities that enable our community to discover and engage with what they love.”

Earlier this year, TikTok launched a Seller University website in Indonesia, per Techcrunch, detailing advertising tips and other best practices. And over the summer, TikTok formally unveiled TikTok Shopping in the U.S., which allows business owners to add a ‘Shopping’ tab to their profiles, and sync with their stores on Shopify, Square, and other platforms.

TikTok Shopping also allows brands to highlight products in organic TikTok videos with links to product detail pages, and host live shopping events with dynamic links.
