BBTV And Hello Pictures Partner On Creator-Fronted Short-Form Slate

BBTV, the Vancouver-based, publicly traded digital network that provides production, distribution, management, and monetization services to thousands of content creators, has partnered with studio Hello Pictures to develop a slate of original short-form series starring said creators.

The deal will see Hello Pictures (part of international entertainment company The Hello Group) make a number of scripted and unscripted shows featuring BBTV-represented creators and musicians.

BBTV and Hello Pictures hope to pitch the series to short-form platforms including TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram Video.

The duo’s first project, The Dream Factory, is a scripted comedy series that follows “a young woman who passes away and discovers, to her horror, that she must find enjoyment in the afterlife. Luckily, she gets to work in the place where dreams are made.”

Casting for The Dream Factory is still under wraps. It’s being written by Adam Cowley

“Hello’s energy, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit represents the new class of what is possible in entertainment,” Paul Telner, BBTV’s creative director, said in a statement. “Fresh original content is a phenomenal way to further elevate creators that we work with, while engaging their fans with new content. We couldn’t be more excited for everyone to see what we’re cooking up together.”

“We have a 6+ year long working relationship with our friends at BBTV working together on talent, events, merchandise and IP,” Taylor Jones, The Hello Group’s CEO, added in his own statement. “Developing a slate of original content together comes as a natural next step in the evolution of our partnership and allows us to collaborate with BBTV, who really are the very best in the creator economy.”
