YouTube Channel ‘Yes Theory’ Goes Audio With First Podcast

The adventure-seeking founders of YouTube channel and media company Yes Theory are launching a podcast.

Thomas Brag, Matt Dajer, and Ammar Kandil–the trio that convinced Will Smith to face his fear of heights for his YouTube original special The Jump–have partnered with podcast producer/distributor Cadence13 and “immersive sound” specialist Headspace Studios for The Yes Theory Podcast.

Per Deadline, Brag, Dajer, and Kandil will use the show to explore self-improvement and becoming their “truest selves” through topics like meditation, kindness, uncertainty, “pursuing novelty,” hope, burnout, physical discomfort, and reinvention.

“This is the first time we’re lifting the veil behind what really happens at Yes Theory, like what we’re really going through and learning behind the scenes,” Brag told Deadline. “We’re just so thrilled to have the chance to dive deeper into talking about why and how discomfort can be a life-changing tool for growth.”

Yes Theory has amassed 5.78 million subscribers and nets around 15 million views per month with videos on new, extreme, often discomfiting experiences like Smith’s bungee jump. Recent uploads followed Brag, Dajer, and Kandil as they traveled to Death Valley to experience life at 130 degrees Fahrenheit, drove Bolivia’s narrow cliffside “death road,” and stranded themselves in shark-infested waters for 24 hours.

“[T]his is a unique opportunity to give new and existing followers of Yes Theory a chance to connect with the trio on a deeper level as they explore how one can go outside their comfort zone and create meaningful change in their lives,” Morgan Selzer, head of programming and development at Headspace Studios, told Deadline.

Slated guests for the podcast include Headspace cofounder and former Buddhist monk Andy Puddicombe; author and law professor Ozan Varol; Harvard scientist Arthur Brooks; Ben Nemtin, executive producer and star of MTV’s The Buried Life; filmmaker and National Geographic host Jason Silva; singer and actor Francois Clemmons; speaker Houston Kraft; New York Times bestseller Mark Manson; Dina Al Shahabi; writer and journalist Anne Helen Petersen; Aaron Ferguson; actress Lauren Ash; marketer and author Ryan Holiday; and attorney-turned-ultra-athlete Rich Roll.

The Yes Theory Podcast will launch Sept. 7 on the radio.com app. New episodes will debut each Monday.
