After repeatedly warning TikToker residence Sway House to stop hosting large parties that could spread COVID-19, the city of Los Angeles has cut off the home’s utilities.
“Despite several warnings, this house has turned into a nightclub in the hills, hosting large gatherings in flagrant violation of our public health orders,” Mayor Eric Garcetti said in a statement. “The City has now disconnected utilities at this home to stop these parties that endanger our community.”
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health issued an order Aug. 5 that bars any gatherings of people who do not live in the same home. Those who violate the order can be punished by fines, jail time, or utility cutoffs.

Garcetti’s office said Sway House members Bryce Hall (13 million followers on TikTok), Noah Beck (11.7 million), and Blake Gray (5.6 million) were first warned about parties at their home on Aug. 8. They were warned again Aug. 14 for a party celebrating Hall’s birthday. That gathering, as The New York Times points out, was hosted by Sway House members, but did not take place at the actual Sway House mansion in Hollywood Hills; it happened at a rental home in nearby Encino. Neighbors reportedly filed noise complaints, and the party was shut down by Los Angeles police.
Garcetti gave authorization for Sway House’s power, water, and gas to be cut off this past Wednesday. That same day, apparently before shutoffs, the trio posted several TikTok videos that appear to mock the city’s incoming punishment.
“Our lights keep flickering for some reason,” Hall captioned one where he, Beck, and Gray dance with their shirts off. Another video shows shots of lights being flicked on, and their running shower and sinks. “Our water is feeling extra warm today and the lights are extra bright. #blessed,” Beck captioned another.

Tubefilter reached out to Garcetti’s office to ask how long violators’ utilities are shut off, and what they must do to have them restored. The office declined to comment. Tubefilter also reached out to TalentX, Sway House’s management company, for comment. We will update this story with any new information.
Hall, Beck, and Gray are not the only influencers to face scrutiny for holding parties during the pandemic. YouTuber Jake Paul recently incurred the wrath of L.A.-adjacent Calabasas for packing the Team 10 mansion full of partiers. The home was later raided by the FBI for reasons that are still unknown.
California has so far seen 650,336 cases of COVID, and 11,821 deaths.
