Abrams Artists Agency Names Katina Kontarakis Director Of Sales On Digital Team

Top talent agency Abrams Artists has tendered yet another hire within its digital division, naming TV vet Katina Kontarakis director of sales.

Kontarakis will be tasked with expanding Abrams’ digital clients’ careers into large-scale brand partnerships and media sponsorships. She will also work to expand Abrams’ involvement in live events and activations involving digital creators. Abrams’ digital efforts are housed within its alternative programming, digital media, licensing, and branding division.

Kontarakis will also continue to leverage Abrams’ partnerships with influencer software startups CreatorIQ, Captiv8, and Bent Pixels — with whom the agency works with on its proprietary creator network. These companies help Abrams Digital Network members with analytics, content optimization, and monetization.

Kontarakis, who served as a national TV buyer and sales exec for over a decade, will report to Abrams SVP Alec Shankman

, effective immediately. She began her career as a national TV buyer at Horizon Media, and subsequently held similar roles at Discovery Communications, WhoSay, and H Code. “Kontarakis joins us in bringing an incredible wealth of knowledge regarding numerous industries and diverse global relationships,” the agency said in a statement. “Her expertise will benefit our clients and the Agency at large.”

Other recent hires at Abrams include former Machinima exec Amber Howard, who joined the company as a talent agent in December. Abrams also onboarded digital agents Maxwell Mitcheson and Henry Gordon in October.
