Indian PM Narendra Modi Surpasses One Million Subscribers, Will Soon Be Top World Leader On YouTube

Narendra Modi is making a splash in international politics — and on YouTube. The official channel of the Indian Prime Minister recently surpassed one million subscribers, and in the coming weeks, its audience is expected to surpass that of the White House YouTube channel, which will make Modi the most-subscribed world leader on YouTube.

Modi, who has held his current post since 2014, uses his YouTube channel to share speeches, policy videos, and more. The channel’s most viewed video, posted back in December 2016, highlights a speech from the Prime Minister and has received more than 4.3 million views to date.

In addition to his prowess on YouTube, Modi is also one of the top world leaders on Twitter, where he has more than 43 million followers. It is on that platform that Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda announced Modi’s latest milestone.

In addition to Modi, other world leaders with active presences on YouTube include Indonesia president Joko Widodo and Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto
