Kat Dennings, John Cena Get Animated As ‘Dallas & Robo’ Arrives On YouTube Premium

YouTube Premium‘s latest play for the adult animation crowd has arrived. Dallas & Robo, which stars the voices of Kat Dennings and John Cena as its titular space travelers, can be found on the official YouTube channel of the WWE. To watch all eight of its episodes, you’ll need a subscription to YouTube Premium (formerly known as YouTube Red), which costs $12 per month.

Dallas & Robo, which was announced last year, comes from Shadowmachine, the studio known for its work on adult animation fare like Bojack Horseman and Robot Chicken. This time, the production company is telling the story of a trucker named Dallas (voiced by Dennings) and her robotic sidekick (Cena) as they embark on intergalactic adventures. As is typical with YouTube Premium shows, the first episode of Dallas & Robo is available for free, but the others have been placed behind the $12 paywall.

With Dallas & Robo, YouTube has to potential to carry the momentum it generated with its Karate Kid sequel series Cobra Kai. That show earned some of the most glowing praise ever received by a YouTube Premium show, and Dallas & Robo, which has plenty of big names among its voice cast, is likely to turn heads as well. We’ll soon have a pretty good idea whether the adult animated comedy will be able to fulfill its considerable promise.

The WWE YouTube channel is one of the internet’s most successful video hubs, counting more than 27 million subscribers. Its content, which often features popular wrestling stars like Cena, has received more than 23 billion views to date.
