Description: The dark, gritty nature of recent Batman adaptations are informing a new project from an upstart studio. The team at Red Fist Productions is behind Batman: Master of Fear, which tells the story of the Caped Crusader’s battle with a nemesis named Nightmare.

Of all the compelling Batman media that has premiered over the past two decades, Red Fist is most inspried by the animated series Batman Beyond, to which their project serves as a prequel. But their version of Bruce Wayne — dark, shadowy, and lowlit — will also be familiar to those who enjoyed the Christopher Nolan version of the character.

With the money they hope to raise, the filmmakers at Red Fist plan to fund a three-part project. The highlight of their work will be their impressive martial arts sequences, which are on display in their pitch video.

Creator Bio: Red Fist is currently focusing its efforts on the construction of its Batman mythology. You can also find it on Patreon.

Best Perk: A comic book adaptation deserves its own comic book, and Master of Fear has one of its own. It can be yours for a $30 contribution.

Why You Should Fund It: There have been a lot of notable digital adaptations of the Batman franchise over the years, but Master of Fear brings a slick approach to its action sequences that few other adaptations of the Caped Crusader’s mythos can match. Master of Fear‘s pilot, released last year, was undoubtedly rough around the edges, but it delivers the goods, and the filmmakers at Red Fist have already shown they can put together a thrilling product. Here’s hoping they get the chance to continue their story.
