During the second annual Tribeca TV Festival, pilots helmed by independent creators will get a chance to shine. The small screen-oriented offshoot of the annual Tribeca Film Festival will return from September 20-23, 2018, and its lineup will include a selection of Indie Pilots sourced from a call for submissions.
The Tribeca TV Festival lineup will include screenings, panels, and sneak peaks of upcoming series. “The options for both what and how we watch television continue to expand,” said Tribeca Enterprises EVP Paula Weinstein in a press release. “We’ve seen this evolution in the one year since we first launched the TV Festival, which was created to help audiences and creators alike discover new voices, to showcase exciting stories, and to celebrate fan favorites. We’re excited for the TV Festival to return as a destination for episodic storytelling.”
Last year, Tribeca launched its TV Festival as a way to showcase episodic content from across the entertainment industry. One of the screenings at that inaugural event was a showcase of YouTube’s Creators For Change program.

The addition of Indie Pilots to the TV Festival program will broaden the range of voices and formats that are presented at the event. The main Tribeca Film Festival, which comes to New York City each spring, already includes space for creators who are producing independent work.
