BuzzFeed Podcast ‘Thirst Aid Kit’ Is Back For A Second Season

Thirst Aid Kit, the BuzzFeed podcast where two women talk at length about lust, is back for a second season.

The podcast’s hosts are two BuzzFeed writers. Bim Adewunmi serves as senior culture writer at BuzzFeed News, and Nichole Perkins is a culture writer (she’s also listed as a “contributor” and “staff” on the website). Adewunmi’s articles are in keeping with Thirst Aid Kit’s theme, with titles like “This Is Why Michael B. Jordan Is So Hot,” and “Chris Evans Uses Nothing On His Beard, It’s Just That Magnificent” (which she wrote with Perkins).

Essentially, the podcast explores not just male beauty, but also the ways in which women can openly discuss it. Season two’s first episode focuses on Oscar Isaac, who has appeared in films like Annihilation and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Not only do the hosts discuss Isaac’s talent and good looks, but also his rise to Hollywood fame as Latinx actor. The episode debuted on March 29.

As the show’s iTunes description puts it, Adewunmi and Perkins will use the podcast to “explore the public ways women express their desire, particularly in this moment when we are all asking more pointed questions about Hollywood, representation, and opportunity.”

To get people hyped for the podcast’s new season, Thirst Aid Kit has been posting some short social videos. On Twitter, Adewunmi and Perkins share a particularly “thirsty” text exchange, and on Facebook, you can watch the women pack their own “thirst aid kit.”

Perkins has appeared as a guest in several other podcasts, including For Colored Nerds and Dig If You Will the Podcast. Adewunmi has been featured in the Dear Prudence podcast, and both Thirst Aid Kit hosts have showed up in Another Round, also a BuzzFeed podcast, hosted by Heben Nigatu and Tracy Clayton.

Thirst Aid Kit episodes run somewhere between 45 minutes and just over an hour. Adewunmi and Perkins have discussed celebrities like Andre 3000, John Cho, and Chris Evans, who appeared on the podcast in January, in past episodes. You can find all Thirst Aid Kit episodes here.
