Smosh Games Launches Branded Web Series For Ubisoft’s ‘Assassin’s Creed Origins’

Smosh Games has launched today a three-episode web series to promote the launch of Assassin’s Creed Origins — the tenth installment in the popular Ubisoft action-adventure game series.

In the YouTube show, titled Operation: Open World, Smosh Games hosts Joshua ‘Jovenshire’ Ovenshire and Mari Takahashi will travel to Egypt to experience some of the local culture that inspired the game’s ancient elements, including mummies, weapons, and animal life in the Nile. Ubisoft’s partnership with Smosh Games marks its only influencer promotion ahead of the Origins launch on Oct. 27 on the Xbox One. As part of the campaign, Ubisoft will also run pre-roll ads promoting Origins across the Smosh Games YouTube channel as well as its Facebook page, which will host a recap of the series following its YouTube run.

Operation: Open World was first announced by parent company Defy Media at its NewFronts presentation in May. Subsequent installments will reportedly see Ovenshire and Takahashi travelling to various events across the globe like Oktoberfest and Carnival.
