On the web, Bravo is interested in producing more than just companions for its TV shows. As first shared by The Hollywood Reporter, the NBCUniversal-owned cable channel has announced a full slate of web series, and it includes programs in the travel, lifestyle, and food genres.
The slate consists of five shows, two of which of are explicitly tied to Bravo TV shows. The other three appear to be wholly original, and they will follow in the footsteps of Going Off The Menu, which Bravo launched as its first non-companion original digital series in April 2016. The Upgrade, for Bravo’s Jet Set site, will inform viewers how to best use their reward programs to earn travel perks; Personal Space will offer advice on its “three Rs,” namely romance, relationships, and relatives; and Bake Amends will show how people are using “apology cakes” to say sorry.
The two companions that will join these originals will both focus on celebrity culture. The Weekly Pre-game will tell viewers what they should expect from the next seven days of Bravo’s reality TV lineup, while Dish Happy Hour will adopt a boozy format to run down top stories from Bravo’s The Daily Dish.
“This marks another milestone in continuing our momentum in the digital storytelling space and in delivering fresh and compelling content for consumers,” Bravo EVP of Digital Lisa Hsia, told The Hollywood Reporter.
The new projects will join the ones Bravo already distributes across its digital network. Beyond Going Off The Menu, the channel’s other notable web series include the ones born from a development deal with Mashable that covered the entire 2016 calendar year.
